August 6th 1999

First We'd like to say this was the best weekend of our entire life.

It all started as we arrived in New York at 11:30 am. We checked into our hotel, had lunch and than set off to the Winter Garden Theatre to find the tan door. We found it right away and than decide to go shopping. We had dinner at 5:00 pm. than went back to our hotel to get some rest and get ready for the show. At 6:45 pm we went down to the hotel lobby to meet Jill a friend we met on the internet and agreed to meet before the show. Jill arrived at 7:00 pm, we hugged and than talked as we walked to the theatre. We were so excited as we entered the theatre.

At 7:30 we were let into the theatre and lead to our seats. As we looked over our programs there was a slip of paper saying the part of Munkustrap was being played by Craig Waletzko. As we read this we were heart broken, but we recovered as the show started, because we knew there was always Saturdays show.

Kyra was also disappointed because Jacob Brent's part was being played Patrick Mullaney, who we found out after the show that this show was his first show as Mistoffelees. He made a couple of mistakes, like he stepped on Bustophers tail, during the Jellicle Ball he made a wrong turn and ran into Pouncival ( we think that was Pounc.). As they moved to the side of the stage to wait for their next cue Patrick leaned over to Pouncival and apologized. Pouncival shook his head and waved it off, than they rubbed heads. On the Misto song when he pulled the ribbon out of the bucket it flew up and in back of him and didn't unroll all the way, he just shrugged on went on with the show. We have to say that Patrick has got to be the best Mistoffelees we've seen on Broadway so far. He did the Misto dance perfect and did a lot of extra sets of spins, did a split got up and did a back flip. At the end of his dance he was given a standing ovasion. We waited for a little while after the show but Kyra wasn't feeling too good so we went back to our hotel and talked till 2:00 am.
